This volume is a collection of papers on emerging concepts, significant insights, and novel approaches on information systems development (ISD). It examines and investigates up-and-coming trends in ISD in general, emphasizing benefits and risks of Artificial Intelligence in the development and operation of Information Systems. The book draws on invited papers selected from the proceedings of the 30th International Conference on Information Systems Development hosted by BabeÈ-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, August 31 - September 2, 2022 (ISD2022). The theme of ISD2022 was Artificial Intelligence  for Information Systems Development and Operations . The conference focused on the interplay between Information Systems and Artificial Intelligence, trying to emphasize novel, smarter automation approaches and the mitigation of risks related to AI adoption. Primary readership of the volume are researchers interested in methodological and operational perspectives related to ISD in general, and to AI adoption as a means of digital transformation in particular.

Gheorghe Cosmin Silaghi is Professor of Computing at BabeÈ-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, leading the Business Informatics Research Center.  His research interests focus on dependable resource management in heterogeneous computing environments, including clouds, grids and volunteer computing.
Robert Andrei Buchmann is a Professor at BabeÈ-Bolyai University and is a Scientific Director of the University's Business Informatics Research Center, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, where his team is investigating opportunities of interplay between the paradigms of Semantic Web and Enterprise Modeling.
Virginia Niculescu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at BabeÈ-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Her research interests focus on models for parallel and distributed computing, and also on data structures and algorithms, design methodologies, and workflow systems. 

Gabriela Czibula works as a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the BabeÈ-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Her research interests include computational intelligence, machine learning, distributed artificial intelligence and multiagent systems, and bioinformatics.
Chris Barry works with the Cairnes School of Business and Economics at the University of Galway. He lectures and researches a range of areas in Information Systems including systems analysis and design, information systems management, and ethics in information systems development. 

Michael Lang is a Senior Lecturer in Business Information Systems at the Cairnes School of Business and Economics, University of Galway. His research interests are business systems analysis and design, information systems privacy, and information systems education. 


Henry Linger  is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Information Technology at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. His research  is directed to understanding how work is actually done by examining the pragmatic, conceptual and cognitive practices of work in order to inform the design of Information Systems artefacts. 

Christoph Schneider is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Operations, Information, and Technology at IESE Business School. His research focuses on the effects of user interface design on cognition, affect, and behavior, in particular in the context of web-based user interfaces.
